Welcome to Suburban Security. This blog will feature running commentary on events that shape the fabric of our society and ultimately will seek to propose a systemic approach to keeping you and your family safe in a world that is becoming increasingly hostile to middle class Americans. Economic downturns, natural disasters, political unrest, and the ever-present threat of terrorism all threaten our way of life in very real ways. For those reasons and more it is becoming clear to many regular people that there is a need to learn about personal defense and understand how to prepare for tough times.
A big part of my interest in the field of preparedness lies in firearms, and I hope to provide you with the insight of an enthusiast on a budget. Firearms are a useful tool that I believe every household should be familiar with. They do not solve all of society's problems though, which is why I will be looking at other issues as well. First aid, food and water storage, hunting, political activism, and more will be covered here.
I am not a self-proclaimed "gun expert. I'm not a "survival expert." Nor am I an expert in any related field. I am someone who is extremely interested in studying the topics that will be presented here, and I approach these subjects after much research and introspection. It is my wish to do so in a manner that is informative, thought provoking, and entertaining. Check back regularly for updates and please be an active participant reader- feel free to contact me with questions and post comments on my entries.
Thanks,
Mitch
